He is also an Adjunct Professor in University of Gondar, Arsi University and ASTU, Ethiopia and Associate Faculty Professor, SPRU, Sussex University and Senior Research Associate Fellow TMDC, Oxford University, United Kingdom. Prof Muchie founded the African Journal on Science, Technology, Innovation and Development in 2009 of which he is also the Chief Editor. He also helped found the first African Globelics Doctoral Academy in 2009, and the AfricaLics networks and is one of the scientific board members of the networks.
